Friends-Dark. No streetlights to guide our path down to the shore. We’ve come outside to escape the noise and chaos of family life. -Cold. It’s August, but I can see my breath. The four of us are huddled beneath two blankets on the bench of the pontoon, and the cold still seeps in. -Water. The lake reflects the moon, and, when I lean over the side of the pontoon, I see the shadow of my face. -Shadow. Although the moon is close to full, the trees on the shore are merely outlines against the sky. Across the lake, there are a few points of light tha Friends
